About Movie Star Pix

Movie Star Pix licenses one of the largest and most complete Pop Culture Photo Archives.  The archive consists of over 10 million images spanning the first 100 years of Hollywood, Music and History.  Every major Hollywood actor, actress, movie, music act and historical figure is  included in the vast archives.  With over 25,000 subjects represented in all, everyone from Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn to Muhammad Ali and Elvis Presley are part of the collection.

The majority of the archive comes from 2 historical companies: Movie Star News, a retail store that was started by Irving Klaw in New York City in 1938.  He acquired millions of images from the studios over 5 decades and was largely responsible for preserving Hollywood. Irving founded his company in New York City in 1939 and was the nations first pop culture photo agency and has represented over 5,000 photographers over the past 75+ years.

Other archives featured : The Frank Worth archive, famous for both photographing and dating Marilyn Monroe.  Worth was also friends with many Hollywood Icons and filmed them all including: James Dean, Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor.  Also, Joseph Jasgur who was known as one of the first to photograph Marilyn Monroe while she was still known as Norma Jean.
